NaNoWriMo: The End

I’m giving up on NaNoWriMo. I’m not usually a quitter, but a person who doesn’t know when to give something up ends up being overbooked, which is the case now. I’ve got a research paper due in 3 weeks with drafts due each week, I’m working the next two Saturdays, my husband has work travel next week and knee surgery the following week, then Thanksgiving, and so on. So it’s just a more responsible use of my time to work on my paper and take care of/spend time with my family.

Despite not finishing it, I did learn from the little bit of fiction writing I tried to do that it’s not for me. I also have a new respect for those who do this kind of writing successfully. It’s not as easy as it looked.
