Parent Power

About 5 years ago, when I became a potty training parent, my son’s preschool teacher recommended the suggestions in the book “Parent Power” by John Rosemond. He’s pretty hard core on his approaches to parenting — I’m not quoting here, but his approach is pretty much the let-the-baby-cry-it-out and make-bed-wetting-the-child’s-problem approach. A lot of it I agree with, and a lot of what he says has to do with parents’ behaviors more than kids’ behaviors. Fix the parents, fix the kids.

All that to say, he’s coming to my city for a one-day Parenting Education Seminar! Woohoo! He’ll present Parenting the Strong Willed Child in the morning and Parenting the Strong Willed Teen in the afternoon. Hubby has to work that weekend but I still want to go. The irony is, they’re not offering childcare so I’ll have to work on that.

Info about the seminar in my city is below. For more John Rosemond appearances check out his speaking schedule.
