Life is Like a Magnetic Poem

“You will live happily ever after, and the lines of your poem will rhyme.”

That statement of encouragement by Beth Moore (at Deeper Still) was such a boon to me, and I’ve clung on to it … er, treasured it … ever since.

Right now, my poem feels like one of those magnetic poetry kits where the words all over the place until someone comes along and strings them together into a cohesive sentence or rhyme or stanza. I’m not saying that’s bad though. It actually feels kinda good to surrender and anticipate what is being written, one magnetic word at a time.
